Esman walked through the school doors. Esman promised himself that today was going to be a good day. Esman wanted people to think he was tough but he was hurting from the pain he felt of his mother leaving him.

The tardy bell rung. Esman was late for his first class. He walked slowly into his math class. Everyone stared at Esman. Esman talked softly to himself, “I will have a good day”. Esman held his head up, looking straight ahead. He loudly spoke to the teacher,” I got lost, it won’t happen again”! He sat down with a serious look on his face. Mrs. Bradshaw smiled and continue teaching.
